  • Puppy Socialization

Due to construction, Puppy Socialization is temporarily not available

This fun and informative social will start your pup off with valuable socialization with other young pups. They will learn to play manners and will go home happy and tired! A great option for pups too young to join our other klasses!

Puppy socialization is every non-holiday Friday from 11:30am to 12:30pm. There is no charge.

  • KinderPaws

KinderPaws is a great klass for all of our puppies coming out of puppy socialization. All young dogs need manners and basic skills to become a well-balanced companion.  This class is for dogs around one year old and under.  If you have an older dog who has never learned any basic skills, we are not opposed to having them either.  Your pups (and you) will learn skills such as: sit, down, stay, heel, come, stand, leave it, touch, and bed.  Let the learning begin!

  • Junior Paws

Junior Paws is the next Klass after KinderPaws. Continued obedience classes build an important foundation for the entirety of a dogs life. In addition to learning the basic “sit,” “down,” “stay,” “come,” “heel,” etc., obedience classes teach pups listening skills in a distracted environment and good behavior in a public location. Junior Paws builds on the learning blocks of KinderPaws and will take it to a more advanced level. Expectations are raised, and the distractions are higher. Generally, this class is best for young dogs graduating from their first obedience class and looking for the next step.

  • Kanine Kollege

Kanine Kollege is a continuation of the basics.  This class is for klients that want a very well trained dog.  Dogs who do basic classes are not “trained”.  Continuing to train a dog until they are a mature adult (3-4 years old) will always get you the best results.  Often times we expect our dogs to know things that they really do not understand. In this class, we reinforce the commands our dogs have been learning and challenge our dogs to learn new things.  Take your dog through Kanine Kollege with us and repeat this Klass as long as you want!

  • Canine Good Citizen

The Canine Good Citizen Program is a two-part program that emphasizes responsible pet ownership for owners and good manners for dogs. All dogs who pass the 10-step CGC test can receive a certificate from the American Kennel Club. Many dog owners choose Canine Good Citizen training as the first step in training their dogs. The Canine Good Citizen Program lays the foundation for therapy dog activities and AKC activities such as obedience, agility, and tracking. As you work with your dog to teach the CGC skills, you’ll discover the many benefits and joys of training your dog. CGC training enhances the bond between you and your dog.

  • Agility Klass

Dog Agility Klasses – Agility is where a handler directs a dog through an obstacle course. Agility is a great form of exercise for both dog and handler, and a fun way to bond. And you don’t have to compete to enjoy agility. Taking our agility klass offers many other benefits; shy dogs can gain confidence, young dogs can expend some energy and older dogs can stay active!

In it’s simplest form, an agility course consists of a set of standard obstacles laid out in a design and area of a specified size. The surface may be of grass, dirt, rubber, or special matting. Obstacles may be marked with numbers indicating the order in which they must be completed.

  • Rally Klass

Rally offers both the dogs and handlers an experience that is fun and energizing. The canine team moves at their own pace, very similar to rally-style auto racing. Rally was designed with the traditional pet owner in mind, but it can still be very challenging for those who enjoy higher levels of competition.

A rally course includes 10 to 20 stations, depending on the level. Scoring is not as rigorous as traditional obedience. Communication between handler and dog is encouraged and perfect heel position is not required, but there should be a sense of teamwork between the dog and handler. The main objective of rally is to produce dogs that have been trained to behave in the home, in public places, and in the presence of other dogs, in a manner that will reflect positively on the sport of rally at all times and under all conditions.

  • K9 Nose Work

K9 Nose Work® is the fun scenting activity that virtually all dogs and their people can enjoy.

K9 Nose Work® starts with getting the dogs excited about using their noses to seek out a favorite toy or treat hidden in one of several boxes. As the dogs grow more confident with their noses, the game expands to entire rooms, exterior areas and vehicles. Advanced K9 Nose Work® focuses on increasing your dog’s skills, adding target odors and much more!

  • Tricks Klass

Tricks Klass is a blast!  Take a break from obedience and just have some fun. We take your dog’s natural tendencies and turn them into party tricks.  Shake, Roll Over, Touch, Paws Up, Spin, Twist, and much more.  We also take many of our tricks from the new AKC Trick Dog Title list.  If you are interested in having your dog receive an official trick dog title, we can do that for you too!  Check out the Trick Dog Title listings here: http://www.akc.org/about-trick-dog/

  • Therapy Dog Prep School

Many of our Canine Good Citizen graduates have gone on to the next level with Paws’itive Teams Therapy Dog Prep School.  Although this 6-week class is not a Kamp Kanine Klass, it is an amazing opportunity for those who want to pursue therapy dog work.  Our Kamp Kanine Owner, Denelle Curry is frequently one of the volunteer instructors.  This class teaches you and your dog all of the skills and etiquette you will need in the therapy dog world.  Paws’itive Teams is a non-profit 503(c)(3), raising service dogs and training therapy dogs to serve San Diegans!  To register, please follow the link: http://www.pawsteams.org/therapy-dogs/therapy-dog-prep-school/
