About Us

Jenny Gutierrez  Jenny is the co-owner of Kamp Kanine (formerly Camp 4 Dogs.) She has an extensive background in caring for dogs having worked in the field for over 10 years. She worked in the veterinarian industry studying as a vet tech, worked in several doggie day cares in her early years to learn her craft and worked for John's Natural Dog Training Company as a dog trainer and a behaviorist - a company she still works very closely with. Jenny is a member of PETA and is concerned for all species of animals.

Bonnie Rubin  Bonnie co-owns John's Natural Dog Training Company along with her husband John Rubin and is co-owner of Kamp Kanine. John and Bonnie incorporated their company in 1995 establishing Natural Pet Systems, Inc. as the parent company. John has been training dogs for over 20 years and has extensive equine experience as well. Bonnie established the pet care and products end of Natural Pet Systems, Inc.,  becoming one of San Diego's leading distributor's for Flint River Ranch All Natural Pet Food, Life's Abundance Holistic Dog and Cat Food and BarfWorld's Raw Diet for Dogs. In 1999 John and Bonnie opened up a doggie daycare in Encinitas which is how they met Jenny. That facility was eventually sold and now Bonnie and Jenny have joined forces again.

Our Kamp Koordinator:

Jaime Stokely  Jaime is John and Bonnie's niece and has been working with and training dogs for the past several years. She is Kamp Kanine's Office Manager and does an excellent job making sure things run smoothly every day. Jaime is course certified by NAPPS - National Association of Professional Pet Sitters - is bonded and, as are all of our employees, Red Cross CPR Certified. She owns a wonderful little rescue terrier mix named Bozlee who attends day care every day.

Our Kamp Kounselors:

Trevor Beckes is Kamp Kanine's Grounds Manager & Kamp Kounselor Supervisor. He is a graduate of Arizona State University with a BA in Business. Trevor has also been a dog trainer with JNDTC since 2000 and is John's Natural Dog Training Company's Director of Marketing. Denelle Smalley is our Behavior Specialist. Denelle is a RVT, a Therapy Dog Evaluator, an AKC CGC Evaluator and is currently in school studying Animal Rehabilitation. She is also John's Natural Dog Training Company's K9 Personal Trainer.
Pam Blanton is our Hiking and Field Trip Specialist. She graduated from CT K-9 Education Center and worked in the field of grooming before eventually incorporating pet sitting and dog walking into her career. Pam recently gave birth to a baby girl, Emma. Meghann Sweeney graduated from USD with a degree in Psychology. She is involved with such non-profit organizations as Project Wildlife and Pegasus Rising Project - caring for and training rescued horses to be used as therapy animals to veterans suffering from PTSD.
Ellen Henderson has a background in psychology. Ellen volunteers on the weekends at the Rancho Coastal Humane Society.  Ellen is a Group Class Apprentice with John's Natural Dog Training Company. Ellen is the proud owner of a smart rescue name Scarlet O'Hairy.
Alana Chavez-Cordova
Alana grew up in Santa Barbara. When she got a dog of her own she realized she wanted to live and work with them the rest of her life. Alana has worked in a vet's office and volunteers at local humane societies.
Linzy Casal  After high school Linzy spent a year in France eventually returning to attend San Francisco State University where she graduated Cum Laude with a BA in Anthropology.  When she moved back to North County Linzy decided to pursue her life-long passion of working and playing with dogs. She also works as a vet tech at Canyon Creek Animal Hospital. She owns a great rescue mix named Harvey. Amy Ketchum (Amy doesn't like to have her picture taken) Amy is Jenny's sister and is a part-time Kamp Kounselor and a full-time student. She has excellent handling skills and has a great understanding of her Kamper's needs. Dogs and their owners love as her kanine klients always enjoy their time with her. Amy consistently plans exciting activities for kampers and kounselors alike.
Wade Hawkins
Kamp Kustodian
Wade is from a small town in Washington State. He comes from a family of experienced dog handlers - his Grandmother is an AKC Certified Dog Judge who travels the World. She passed along to Wade her passion for dogs. Wade keeps everything in our yards, as well as our vans, in top-notch condition.
Kenna McInerny
Kamp Keeper
Kenna has been riding and showing horses competitively from the age of four. After her freshman year at SFA in Texas, she moved back to So Cal to continue her progress towards a bachelors in Animal Science. Kenna owns an Australian Cattle Dog, Ford, and three American paint horses.
